Please join us as for a weekend of wellness and the healing arts, celebrating the women and their evolving friendships.  Over the course of the weekend, there will be opportunities to attend a variety of personal care sessions, yoga and wellness activities including:

  • Instructional lymph massage routine, Eden Energy 5 minute daily routine, tension and fascia release with tennis balls.
  • A variety of yoga sessions, including active, gentle, restorative, meditation and inquiry.
  • Fitness & meditation hikes, time for solitude and reflection, creative art projects.
  • Let Your Yoga Dance party, fire circle, midnight snacks.
  • Body workers and healers will be on hand providing massage and energy work at extra cost, palm readings.
  • All meals are heath conscious and prepared by Isabel Cross and Tammy Hugh.

Saturday Evening Presentation with Anna Pittman:  Exploring the Evolution of Friendship Among Women. She will share how we, as women, can learn to support each other through daily trials and triumphs. We will also learn how to access the Divine Feminine energy so to enrich all of our relationships.

About Camp Mad Anthony Wayne:  CMAW is one of the Greater Huntington Parks and Recreation properties and is located 2 miles past the VA Hospital on Spring Valley.  The lodge sleeps 28 in bunk beds in the loft.  There are also 4 cabins that have 4 bunk beds each and can accommodate air mattresses.  Tent camping is also available.  NOTE:  Reservations will be confirmed first come, first served as payment arrives.  An email will be sent from me confirming your space.  Please let me know your preference and if you are wanting a cabin for a group of friends, please make contact with me for arrangements.  The cabins will only be available after 5pm on Saturday.

Anna Pittman has been teaching yoga since 1988, after first studying modern dance in NYC and Milan, Italy. Her experiences in dance brought her to the refining and subtle practices of Hatha Yoga, Breathwork and Meditation.  She has acquired certificates in Advanced Hatha Yoga, Massage, Shiatsu, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Breathwork, Life Transformation Consultation, and a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology. She has begun a Ph.D. trajectory in Consciousness Studies.

Anna offers a personal, life perspective that the client can grasp and integrate immediately. This realization transforms the connection with Self, which is beautifully reflected in their relationships at home and in the work place. During her 26 years of teaching Yoga, she found that many of her students had difficulty integrating spiritual teachings and spiritual experiences into their everyday life. Many of the problems for which we seek help present themselves in our social and personal interactions with family, friends, and at work. Through her studies and career as a facilitator she has developed effective methods to assist her clients in ways to help them bring their spiritual experiences and aspirations into these relationships and their lifestyle. Anna provides insight into the essential nature of how we perceive the personal self, and how it relates to the world. This provides an enlightened way to relate to both oneself and those within our lives. Jenn 2015Jenn Brooks has been teaching yoga since 2012 having recently completed Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Self Awareness Program with Anna Pittman of The Breathing Space in Blacksburg, Virginia.  She continues deepen her relationship to Self through Anna’s extended programs and other Master teachers.

Jenn’s classes reflect her soft, personal practice, focusing on the subtleties of the inner body such as stillness, movement, breath, sensation and vibration.  This refined and skillful knowing and guidance leads her students to a more relaxed and renewed way of being in the world.  These classes can be described as gentle, restorative and physically suitable for those new to yoga as well as those desiring a deeper, more intimate practice.


Molly Crance is a natural intuitive who uses palm readings as a tool to connect with other people’s energy Chakras.

When she was young, she noted a tendency to accurately predict events before they occurred. She was able to know simple things like who was calling on the telephone long before caller ID and even able to sense that certain things were going to happen to others. Her interest peaked with this natural intuition on January 28, 1986 when she was watching the Challenger Space Shuttle launch on a television in her classroom. A few moments before liftoff she turned to one of her classmates and a teacher, proclaimed that something was wrong, and predicted the fatal disaster. In the years following this event, she searched for ways to hone in on this higher level of consciousness to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

At the age of 19, Molly was introduced to palm reading and more than 20 years later she is still using it as her preferred mode of connecting with others’ past, present, and future. She found that it was the perfect medium to utilize her natural talents to serve others who want to know more about themselves, their relationships, business decisions they plan to make and how to best utilize any special information in their everyday lives.

Molly currently donates any financial compensation received from her readings to Women For Women International. This organization has helped nearly 420,000 marginalized women in countries affected by war and conflict. They directly work with women in 8 countries offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency.


Since learning to do leg massage on cyclists at the age of 14, Ann Marie Dye has been truly thankful to touch, work with, and perceive our uniquely similar sacredness. After becoming a certified and licensed massage therapist in 1990, Ann has worked with all ages of clients from babies to 90-year olds, as a soigneur for internationally-ranked cycling teams, in resorts, chiropractic offices and in her own private practice for more than 25 years. Her current work focuses on calming and reminding our bodies how to easily switch back and forth between a ‘getting things done’ mode, and rest and relaxation, returning vitality, balance and flow to her client’s lives.


Mary Beth Ferda completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2009 in Gainesville, FL. Her practice led her to the Florida School of Massage, where she studied various massage modalities, anatomy, and kinesiology, as well as techniques for deepening self-awareness, and for building an empowering client-therapist relationship rooted in compassionate communication. She has lived in Huntington, WV for nearly four years, where she offers myofascial work, polarity therapy, and thai massage at her private practice, Nurtured Body & Birth. She has a heart for working with moms and will begin offering doula services in 2015.

Thai Massage has been referred to as “lazy yoga.” Unlike traditional table massage, Thai massage is performed with the recipient fully clothed and lying on a floor mat. It is an energy-balancing practice consisting of rhythmic compressions and assisted stretching.


Gina Hart-Smith is a Hatha Yoga Instructor in Huntington, WV. She completed a 200hr teacher training with the guidance of Anna Pittman of The Breathing Space in Blacksburg, VA. She also completed a Kidding Around Yoga teacher training for Kid’s Yoga. Her ultimate training experiences occurred in December 2014 at a workshop with Lilias Folan “The Joy is In the Journey” and in January 2015 at a class with Lilias at her church in Ohio. In 1978, at the age of seven, Gina began her Yoga journey with Lilias on PBS like so many other American yogis. Meeting Lilias and learning directly from her was the culmination of a little yogi’s dream.

A graduate of Marshall University with degrees in German and Psychology, Gina worked for eighteen years in the field of Behavioral Health. The roles varied from Social Worker, Case Manager, Group Home Manager, and Director of a Day Training Center for Adults with Intellectual and Other Disabilities but the themes remained constant reflecting her commitment to build connections, to serve, and to help others.

Gina has always been a kid doing Yoga. She believes in keeping a Beginner’s Mind and a gentle, playful approach to the practice.  Gina loves guiding Yoga for beginners and children especially, but is also grooves on guiding others as they deepen their practice. She is committed to body-positive communication and offerings that can be modified for all practitioners. Gina is kind of a rock and roll yogini. It is not uncommon for her to offer a practice inspired by the music of The Grateful Dead, Bob Marley or Pink Floyd. She loves using Jazz, Bluegrass, R&B, and the Blues on her unique play lists. This has become a way to blend her two greatest loves, Yoga and Music.

Gina offers classes at Studio 8 in Huntington since her friend and Yoga classmate Joan opened it over three years ago. Gina offers Beginner Yoga, Restorative, and Power Yoga weekly and Kid’s and Family Yoga in the summer. Gina has offered Workshops blending Yoga and the music of the Grateful Dead and Bob Marley and has assisted some Restorative workshop offerings.

Gina is the Physical Education Teacher for Yoga courses offered at Marshall University since 2010. She teaches Intro and Intermediate Yoga at the MU Rec Center. Gina offers sessions exploring the 8 limbs of Yoga, stress reduction, and increasing focus and creativity. The Athletic Department at Marshall is very active in suggesting Yoga classes for Marshall Student Athletes. This has provided Gina the opportunity to assist the student athletes in exploring how Yoga can assist them with their unique challenges. Gina enjoys providing class experiences that lead to loving a life-long Yoga practice.

Gina loves sharing a smile with others. Smiling is one of the most basic forms of energy exchange. A smile quickly raises the vibe allowing people to feel more at ease, more friendly and more loved or loving. Exploring the Inner Smile from the Tao is a way to promote health by connecting with and smiling into the internal organs. This is Gina’s favorite meditation to share with others as it is quite simple to learn and practice and it can be very powerful.

Gina believes that cultivating and sharing a smile, a true and pure signal of loving energy, can heal the world.

Jenny Holley

Jennifer Holley, MA has practiced Usui Method Reiki for 15 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies, specializing in Eastern Religions. Her Master’s degree is in Counseling and she is currently a Therapist working with at-risk youth at Huntington Middle School.

Jennifer has advanced training in Reiki and was certified a Reiki Master/Teacher in 2003 in Houston, Texas under the guidance of Mary Armenia. Her Master teachers are Mony Winfrey and Sharon Turco of Memphis, TN.
She has advanced training in several modalities of energy psychology and body work practices, including: Kolaimni Level 1, Eden Energy Techniques, Emotional Freedom Technique Level 1, Tappas Acupressure Technique, Quantum Healing, Kinesiology and has been a yoga and meditation instructor since 2007.

Jennifer has taught hundreds of Reiki students in Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and West Virginia. She has also taught Philosophy and Religious Studies courses as a student teacher at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has advanced training in Tibetan Buddhist practices and in Hindu yogic practices under Kelsang Tilopa, Lama Kathy Wesley and Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri. She has also taught as a guest speaker on all of these topics at Marshall University and dozens of churches and smaller venues throughout the southeast.


Bobbi Hanshaw Leslie is a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Elementary Education and an additional certification in Art Education k-12. She has 18 years teaching experience with the Cabell County Board of Education.

Bobbi’s love of yoga started 13 years ago under the direction of Clarice Kumlien. Ms. Kumlien inspired her to go on to complete a 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Self Awareness program under the guidance of Anna Pittman (Blacksburg, VA).
Bobbi’s passion has always been sharing her yoga and art, especially with children. Her most recent accomplishment was the completion of the Go Give Yoga program. The program, under the guidance of Maureen Heil, has given Bobbi the skills necessary to reach out to the community and share the benefits of yoga with the under privileged children in our community.
Currently partnering with Jenn Brooks for Artful Yoga Workshop, Bobbi will soon begin offering kids’ yoga and art classes!


Katrina Mailloux is the founder and owner of Brown Dog Yoga. She first began practicing yoga in an effort provide a balance to her weight training and running regimen. She took her first class in Charlottesville, Virginia and has since obtained her RYT-200 from The Breathing Space in Blacksburg, Virginia and completed her RYT-500 training at Yoga on High, in Columbus, Ohio. She is currently pursuing an advanced certificate in Yoga Therapeutics from Yoga on High. Katrina brought yoga teacher training to Huntington in 2009 through Anna Pittman and The Breathing Space, and is the Director and Lead Trainer for the Brown Dog Yoga RYT-200 hour Teacher Training Program.

Katrina welcomes all levels of yoga practitioner to her classes and is excited to share her passion in the unique and historic environment at Heritage Station. Katrina’s goal with her yoga instruction is to help busy individuals find inner peace and balance—to be less about human “having” and human “doing,” and more about human being.

On Saturday during our lunch at the retreat, Katrina Mailloux will discuss some simple tools that you can apply to your daily life to put your dreams and goals into motion.  In this interactive presentation, we will discuss the importance of creating an accountability system, developing an action plan, and creating space for self-care along the way.  Let’s tap into our inner light and ignite a fire!

Jennifer McComasJennifer McComas’ yoga journey began around age 7 when she read from her babysitter’s yoga book.  She tried to do the poses that were in the book.  Jennifer later took a yoga class in college and fell in love with it. About 14 years ago she began to practice yoga with Clarice Kumlein and felt blessed receive her level 1 Hatha Yoga Teacher certification from her teacher Anna Pittman.

Jennifer recently completed a Kids yoga teacher training with Maureen Heil and Shannon Somogyi through the organization Go Give Yoga and is looking forward to sharing it with her kindergarten class this year.


Maureen McGonagle grew up in Arlington, VA, and moved to Blacksburg, VA in 2007 to attend Virginia Tech. Blacksburg has since become her home, where she works as a community garden coordinator, yoga instructor, and massage therapist. Maureen graduated from the Blue Ridge School in Massage and Yoga in 2014, and was trained in a variety of modalities–Swedish, Deep Swedish, Thai Yoga Massage, Trigger Point Therapies, and Reiki, along with Myofascial Release–the primary modality she uses. Maureen offers a deeply therapeutic massage, targeted specifically to the needs of each client.

Maureen is a graduate of Anna Pittman’s advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training & Self Awareness Program and will be leading a gentle and introspective yoga class Sunday morning.

Gloria 1

Gloria Sage has studied a variety of energy medicine techniques including Touch for Health, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Brain Gym and Eden Energy Medicine and Energy Psychology with Donna Eden and David Feinstein. She has been practicing yoga for fifteen years and is enrolled in a 200 hour Hatha Yoga teacher training and Self-Awareness program with Anna Pittman, in Blacksburg, Va. She is participating in a training project with the Go Give Yoga Foundation to bring yoga to children and teens in areas of our state where opportunities are limited or unavailable.

Gloria works for the WV Autism Training Center at Marshall University where their mission is “to support individuals with autism spectrum disorders as they purpose a life of quality”, which includes opportunities to be involved in activities that are fun and promote well-being, such as yoga.  She will be teaching participants Donna Eden’s Five-Minute Daily Energy Routine, which is designed to align the body’s energies to boost your health and vitality. This simple daily routine is something you will be able to take home with you and use in your life immediately.

PriyaGargi Singh combines both spirituality with spirit of scientific inquiry and brings them gently on the yoga mat. She first learned yogic techniques of physical postures, visualization based meditations and yogic nidra when she was 8 years old from her teachers and elders in India. Since then hers has been a journey of integrating the fast-paced industrialized external world with the quieter internal space of being. In alignment with the spirit of this integration, she recently graduated from Breathing Space as a 500 hour hatha yoga instructor and is ready to graduate from Virginia Tech with a PhD in Civil Engineering.

Gargi is also a student of the art of nourishing (Ayurveda) and reading planetary influences (Vedic Astrology) of both external universe and the internal world. In our time together at the retreat, she is offering exploration of internal space through the ancient art of Pratyahara and sharing its gift of harmony with our external shared reality.


Brittany Merritt Stowasser is a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Journalism and a Licensed Massage Therapist who successfully completed a 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Self-Awareness program through her teacher Anna Pittman from Blacksburg, VA.

Brittany studied under Sharon Manner, the founder of Ashrams for Autism Yoga where she obtained a 40 hour certification to work with those living with Autism and Spectrum Disorders. Inspired by her brother Joshua who lives with Autism, Brittany teaches locally in group homes, day-habilitation programs and shelters across WV. She has a weekly class geared toward ASD and spectrum disorders that includes asana, mantra and breathing techniques that is free to the public at Autism Services each Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

She is certified to work with Children through Kidding Around Yoga and obtained her certification in pre/postnatal yoga through Asheville Yoga Center.

When she isn’t teaching or practicing massage around town, she offers Bhakti yoga classes out of her home. Brittany and her husband of twelve years, Edward Stowasser along with their daughter Emery Kate, reside with their retriever mix Chip and beagle Yogi in the country in Milton, WV.


Thea Vincenti is a holistic wellness consultant. Her journey began 12 years ago in massage therapy school where she was first introduced to a holistic approach to living and being a whole.  She studied at the Blue Ridge School of Massage and Yoga for both massage therapy as well as level one Ashtanga Krama Yoga. She continued her yoga journey at The Breathing Space to inquire more deeply into the emotional mental level on how to cultivate true inner joy. She took level 1 and level 2 Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Self Awareness programs with Anna Pittman. Thea is a 700 hour certified advanced teacher of yoga.  She also plans and hosts personalized yoga and massage retreats in the Blacksburg & Floyd, Virginia area!

Thea choose Manual Lymphatic Drainage as her specialty due to its effective and gentle way into healing and detoxifying the body. She has continued explorations in natural health remedies through the Lotus Health Institution for the past seven years where she studies qigong, homeopathy, detoxification, as well as natural remedies and she understands the body’s need to live in balance and moderation.

Thea will present on her knowledge of the lymphatic system and how we can use simple yoga, qigong and natural remedies to keep this system moving and working optimally in everyday life.


Nichole Webb is a Licensed Professional Counselor & Certified Let Your Yoga Dance Teacher. She specializes in a holistic, mind-body-spirit approach to mental health and has 15 years of experience helping others heal from depression and anxiety, learn to manage stress, transition through life changes successfully, and improve their relationships with their spouses, children, parents, friends, coworkers and perhaps most importantly, themselves.

Through her own personal journey, which began 11 years ago during pregnancy, she discovered a passion for mindfulness, meditation, breathwork and the mind-body connection, which she gradually incorporated into her work with clients, and began witnessing excellent results, leading her to further explore modalities outside of traditional “talk therapy”. In 2012, she joined Studio 8 and began teaching workshops on mindfulness and providing personal and relationship coaching. In January 2014, she completed 56-hour LifeForce Yoga for Mood Management (Level 1) training with Amy Weintraub in Tucson, AZ.

A life changing event for Nichole has been re-discovering her passion for dancing and in 2014 she completed 100 hour Let Your Yoga Dance teacher training at Kripalu with Megha~Nancy Buttenheim. It was a completely intuitive and heart-driven decision to attend the training and she describes it as a “coming home”. She describes dancing in her classes as a way to “become your most passionate, powerful, joyous, & authentic self” she loves to share it with others.
